First day of Sheldon Institute for J. As we walked up to the the historical building, I was giving J some background on it, and the man it is named after, Edward Austin Sheldon. As I was leaving, I noticed the inscription on the back of the statue : THE CHILDREN'S FRIEND. I bet he was an awesome teacher. He would probably roll over in his grave if he knew of some of the silly things going on in schools today. Teaching to the tests, cutting the arts, timing how many words a kid can read a minute....UGH!!!!!! Let Education be Childrens' FRIEND again!!!!
1 elementary and 1 elementary art teacher each the mothers of a son and daughter who are essentially the same ages, in need of a mental outlet after hours upon hours with KIDS at work or at home!
